I’ve been doing a lot more video editing with my virtual tours for homes that I list, so I thought instead of taking pictures this year at the Biker rally in Port Dover, I’d get video instead. Here are the results of what I captured. If you like what you see, hit that like button, and share it all over the place!

Whenever I have someone that is looking to buy a home in Port Dover, I always mention to them the rally that happens every Friday the 13th.  Where most understand after I explain it to them, there are still ones that give me a bit of a vacant acknowledgement, and I can tell that the pictures and my explanation just don’t convey what really goes down in our little fishing town.  So I made this video instead.  And I think it really captures the heart of the event!  Enjoy 🙂

Port Dover, Ontario. Friday the 13, 2014.

We’ve all heard that statement, right?  And lets face it, there’s a lot of truth to it.  Fences offer privacy, let you keep a dog in the yard without worries, sometimes even adds a level of security to your property.  If you don’t already have a fence around your backyard though, what do you need before you put one up? My backyard!

My backyard!

This is my first post in 2014, and for some reason I really want to say something profound. Something with a bit of weight. Something that might give you insight to who I am. At the same time, I don’t want to deviate from the general theme of my blog.

So here goes… (more…)

Ok, so we may not all fit into the “born to be wild” category, but for a few days out of the year you sure can participate!  Yesterday was another one of the incredible gatherings that Port Dover has become famous for.  Friday the 13th, one of the biggest biker rally’s in Canada. (more…)

Canadian-Money

No one, that’s who!  Well, ok, maybe not no one, but if there’s a good prize at the end of it, and no real commitment to enter, of course people love it.  Guess what I have for you!  An incredible contest with an even more incredible prize!!  Ok, so what’s the biggest out of pocket expense when buying a home?  This one’s easy…it’s your down payment.  5% of your total borrowing costs.  That’s a huge chunk!  Read on, my friends…read on… (more…)

my daughter enjoying a day at the office with me…

Geez, I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve made a post here.  I’ve been slacking.  But with this incredible weather, I’ve been spending a lot of time on the beach, so I haven’t had the time to write!  Maybe everyone else should follow suit 😉 (more…)

Just one of the places you need to find.

Just one of the places you need to find.

No seriously. Get Lost.

If you’re from Norfolk County and you haven’t already done this, you’re missing out! Truly, we’re in one of the most beautiful counties that Ontario has to offer, and I beg that you give this a try… (more…)

golferCan you smell that?  It’s Spring coming on!  And that means there are a lot of people getting excited about one thing…golf!  One of the things that makes Norfolk County incredible is the golf courses we have here. I have clients that move in from out of the area ask me about it fairly often…how many courses we have, where they are, and which ones are the best to play.  We have some simply stunning courses, and ones to cater to every skill level.  I love to golf, but I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a great golfer. I’m fair, at best. But because I’m expected to be an expert on my area, I felt that I really should know every course (it was a great excuse to play around a lot last summer!), and from that, I’ve chosen to write about my favourite 3.  Maybe you’ll agree with me, maybe you won’t. Maybe you’ll even get out to try something new out! (more…)

Product-Photography-TorontoThey say a picture is worth a thousand words.  A picture is a piece of art.  And I’m here to say that pictures can make or break your listing.  Let’s talk about this for a bit, because it’s a bit of a personal pet peeve. (more…)

ImageSilly question, right?  Well, maybe not.  Odds are, if you’re thinking of selling your house then you’ve lived in it for a while now.  Driving up to it every day, seeing it all the time, it’s natural to look at it under a different light than potential buyers.

Curb appeal is the physical attractiveness of your home from the outside…specifically the curb.  (I know, but sometimes it’s necessary to state the obvious to make a point).  Most buyers are doing their preliminary house hunting online, and a lot of them will do a “drive by” of a potential home before they call up their agent to have a look inside.  Does your home stack up?  If someone drove past your house, from the street does it look enticing enough to make people want to look further?  That’s our goal here.
