On February 28, 2018, Ontario Power Generation station was scheduled to have the towers demolished, and what a sight it was! It was a beautiful day with clear skies, albeit windy (but when isn’t it windy on Lake Erie?). I took to the skies with my Phantom 3 and captured this bit of video, so if you wanted to see it, but didn’t get the chance, here you go!

The closing of this plant has been a point of controversy, but witnessing an event like this is without a doubt a pretty spectacular sight to behold.

Thanks for watching, and let me know what you think!

writing...Geez, it’s been a while since I’ve hammered on the keyboard for my blog.  Too long, apparently, because I’ve had a number of people ask me where I’ve gone…both with my blog and my newsletter!  So I’m here to say, I’m back to writing and Imma gonna do my best to keep on top of it!

I figure I’m going to do a few changes though, and work to implement some projects I’ve been dying to do.  We all know video is where it’s at, and if you’ve been following my business (real estate), you will have noticed that I’ve been doing full video virtual tours for the homes I sell…and the response has been incredible!  So I want to take it to the next level and do a showcase series for my county.  It’s actually something I’ve been pondering for quite a while now (over a year!), but…well…life kind of gets in the way sometimes.

See, I live in one of the most beautiful areas in Southern Ontario, and I want to show it off.  Yes, I know I’m a bit biased, but I think after I show you all what I’m talking about, it will be hard to argue the fact.  I’ll continue to write the way I always have, but these will be some…added pieces.

So be patient with me, and we’ll make this year a year of exploration!  Thanks for riding along  🙂

I’ve been doing a lot more video editing with my virtual tours for homes that I list, so I thought instead of taking pictures this year at the Biker rally in Port Dover, I’d get video instead. Here are the results of what I captured. If you like what you see, hit that like button, and share it all over the place!

Whenever I have someone that is looking to buy a home in Port Dover, I always mention to them the rally that happens every Friday the 13th.  Where most understand after I explain it to them, there are still ones that give me a bit of a vacant acknowledgement, and I can tell that the pictures and my explanation just don’t convey what really goes down in our little fishing town.  So I made this video instead.  And I think it really captures the heart of the event!  Enjoy 🙂

Port Dover, Ontario. Friday the 13, 2014.

We’ve all heard that statement, right?  And lets face it, there’s a lot of truth to it.  Fences offer privacy, let you keep a dog in the yard without worries, sometimes even adds a level of security to your property.  If you don’t already have a fence around your backyard though, what do you need before you put one up? Ok, so we may not all fit into the “born to be wild” category, but for a few days out of the year you sure can participate!  Yesterday was another one of the incredible gatherings that Port Dover has become famous for.  Friday the 13th, one of the biggest biker rally’s in Canada. (more…)

my daughter enjoying a day at the office with me…

Geez, I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve made a post here.  I’ve been slacking.  But with this incredible weather, I’ve been spending a lot of time on the beach, so I haven’t had the time to write!  Maybe everyone else should follow suit 😉 (more…)

Just one of the places you need to find.

Just one of the places you need to find.

No seriously. Get Lost.

If you’re from Norfolk County and you haven’t already done this, you’re missing out! Truly, we’re in one of the most beautiful counties that Ontario has to offer, and I beg that you give this a try… (more…)

ImageSilly question, right?  Well, maybe not.  Odds are, if you’re thinking of selling your house then you’ve lived in it for a while now.  Driving up to it every day, seeing it all the time, it’s natural to look at it under a different light than potential buyers.

Curb appeal is the physical attractiveness of your home from the outside…specifically the curb.  (I know, but sometimes it’s necessary to state the obvious to make a point).  Most buyers are doing their preliminary house hunting online, and a lot of them will do a “drive by” of a potential home before they call up their agent to have a look inside.  Does your home stack up?  If someone drove past your house, from the street does it look enticing enough to make people want to look further?  That’s our goal here.

winter-for-sale_500Well, after a much needed vacation with my beautiful and supportive wife, I’m back to work full force. It’s very encouraging that in January I’m seeing as much activity as I am, and even though right now I’m working with more Buyers than Sellers, I’ve been speaking with several people about listing their home. The most common question I’m getting from people is should I list now, even with it being winter?

I think if you polled most REALTORS, you would find that it is an extremely common question so I’m going to try and give you the short answer right now.

Needs some work...Ok, so this is something I have a lot of experience with, and I have no doubt any of my REALTOR friends will agree with me here.  If you’re in the market to buy a home, please read on and take to heart some of the things I have to say.

It’s pretty common knowledge that an integral part of any home purchase will include a Home Inspection (and if you’re looking in the country include a water and septic one as well, as a standard home inspection will not cover these items).  We have to remember, however, just what exactly this home inspection is FOR.  (more…)
