Shortbread3949-thumb-596x350-181906It’s getting cold outside, but with Christmas coming up you know you’re still running around town trying to catch up.  And I know you’re hungry.

There’s a little restaurant downtown Simcoe that you have to check out…fresh cut fries, perfectly grilled paninis, and oven baked cookies.  Oh, the cookies!  On the corner of Robinson street and Kent is a place called Kaley’s where the owner will serve you with a smile as warm as the food.  It’s a cute little atmosphere and convenient location where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, or sit down for a fantastic lunch.  On your way out, don’t forget to grab a dozen freshly baked cookies, or check out the amazing custom cakes she does!

I think it’s time for reform. Pretty strong, I know, but honestly there has been little to no resistance from the good people of Ontario against the government with regards to how we’re being run. There are tons of policy issues I could get into, but what has a real bug in me right now is taxes.

Please don’t get me wrong…I have no issue paying taxes. It’s how a country is run, it’s how our streets are upkept, and provides schooling and education, health care, garbage removal, police systems, fire departments, and so on. All in all taxes are a mandatory part of a successful system. We need accountablility for that system!!

Here’s a novel idea. Lets figure out what we’re being taxed on, why, and what’s being done with that money that we’re providing to our government.  It’s the lies and deceit and broken promises and just general lack of forethought that bother me, and I’m sure it bothers most people. We just don’t do anything about it.

Today, when thinking of selling your home, there are a ton of options to you.  Cropping up lately are several companies who make claims that they will make it easy for you to do it yourself, but really how easy is it?

So here is my first official blog.  Wow.  You know, for someone who uses computers so much you’d think that I’d already have one of these things started up.  Nope.

I guess I’ll start with a bit about myself.  I grew up in Jarvis, Ontario…not really a whole lot to do there as a kid, but somehow I managed to stay out of trouble (for the most part).  Eclectic would be a good way to describe my background.  Ranging from my military service to live theatre and stage performance (how you manage to touch on both of those, I have no idea except to say I’m lucky).  I also have a pretty strong history of home renovation and woodworking thanks to working with my father and now with my own woodshop.

For the past 3 years I’ve been selling Real Estate in Norfolk and Haldimand counties with Re/Max Erie Shores.  I think I’ve finally found my niche in life!  I know people that have searched all their lives for a livelihood that they like.  Most never find it.  It’s sad, but how many people do you know that can say they love their jobs?  As of the writing of this blog, I’m 31 years old, and I have found that job that I love!  Not only that, but it’s something that I really seem to excell at.  My passion for real estate is second only to my passion for my family, and I think that really shows.

I live in Norfolk, between Simcoe and Waterford with my beautiful wife, and amazing children of which I have two.  I’ve been blessed with a loving and supportive family.  Very cool, eh?  I’m a country boy at heart.  I think I always have been.   Don’t get me wrong, I like being in town and I love the size of Simcoe…I enjoy visiting the city, but I gather comfort in knowing that I have a great home out in the country to lay my head.

I suppose I should come up with some grand closing here, but to be honest I can’t think of something that would be life changing or revolutionary.  Instead, I’m going to say give me a call, write me a note, or send me a txt and lets figure the end out together.  It should be a good long journey 😉
