Ok, so it’s raining and not snowing, and the weather is milder than we’re used to.  But what is it that really makes the holiday feel like Christmas? A lot of people come to Simcoe to witness the lights (even without snow, they’re a sight to be held).  Scents are a huge thing…the smell of baking and roasting turkey or ham, for us it was putting up the very large Christmas tree and having the scent of pine fill our home.  But more than all of that, it’s the actions that we do. The heartfelt charity that reminds us that we’re all in this game together. So when I went in to pick up a few things at my local pharmacy, I was overwhelmed by what they were doing. (more…)

In Flanders FieldsThis day is particularly special to me.  I have experience and know several people, family included, that fought in the wars. Young men and women that worked harder than most of the current generation combined. Because they had to.                         They had to, knowing that if they did not succeed, then their children would not have the freedoms we so cherish and take for granted. (more…)

It’s way too early to start talking Christmas, I know, however there are stores gearing up for it already, and believe it or not, there are people that start decorating their homes by now.  Ok, I’m not here to judge that…if you want to go all Griswall on the neighbourhood, that’s entirely up to you (good luck with those hydro prices this year though…led bulbs will be your friends!).  What I do need to discuss is those people who want to decorate AND are trying to sell at the same time.  What to do?? In the aftermath of a federal election, lots of conversations have been spurred.  Some hopeful, some fearful.  I’ve spoken with some that are overjoyed, and I’ve heard hushed voices warning of dire things to come.  It was one conversation that sticks out in my mind though, and it’s one that I want to share (paraphrased, of course, and without naming names)…

Whether you support the Liberals or not, that is the party that as of November 4 will lead our country with a majority government.  The voice of Canada has spoken, and it has done so with (more…)

Untitled designEven though I’ve embraced the title of geek, I haven’t done any blogging about it.  That’s going to change today.  More and more, so many of us are working on the go, which means that we need access to information and files that might be stored on different devices.  Enter cloud storage. norfolk county fair 2015It’s that time of year again!  Who doesn’t love a county fair?  No one, that’s who!  And here in Simcoe, we have one of the biggest county fairs Ontario has to offer, the Norfolk County Fair.  It has everything you would expect a great county fair to have…carnival rides, carnival games, carnies, exhibitors, carnival food (can anybody say deep fried butter and chocolate covered bacon?).  There are nightly events, like the annual crash derby, the tractor pull, and there’s always a musical performance.

If you’re lucky, you’ll spot (more…)

writing...Geez, it’s been a while since I’ve hammered on the keyboard for my blog.  Too long, apparently, because I’ve had a number of people ask me where I’ve gone…both with my blog and my newsletter!  So I’m here to say, I’m back to writing and Imma gonna do my best to keep on top of it!

I figure I’m going to do a few changes though, and work to implement some projects I’ve been dying to do.  We all know video is where it’s at, and if you’ve been following my business (real estate), you will have noticed that I’ve been doing full video virtual tours for the homes I sell…and the response has been incredible!  So I want to take it to the next level and do a showcase series for my county.  It’s actually something I’ve been pondering for quite a while now (over a year!), but…well…life kind of gets in the way sometimes.

See, I live in one of the most beautiful areas in Southern Ontario, and I want to show it off.  Yes, I know I’m a bit biased, but I think after I show you all what I’m talking about, it will be hard to argue the fact.  I’ll continue to write the way I always have, but these will be some…added pieces.

So be patient with me, and we’ll make this year a year of exploration!  Thanks for riding along  🙂
